In the name of God amen August the 27th 1674 I Francis Firminger of Hartfeild in the County of Sussex yeoman being sicke and weake in body but of perfect minde and memory thankes bee given to god therefore Calling to mind the mortallitie of my body and know that it is apointed for all men once to die doe make and ordaine this my Last will and Tesstament in manner and forme following that is to say first and principally I give my soule in to the hands of God who gave it mee And for my [body] I commend it to the earth to be buried in Christian manner nothing doubting but at the Generall resurrection I shall receve the same againe by the power of God and as touching such worly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and bequeath and dispose in manner and forme following Item I give unto my eldest daughter mary firminger one shilling to be paid within one month after my decease Item I give unto mary and Richard Burges the childrine of my daughter mary five pound to be paid unto them at the age of one and twenty years and to bee equally devided beetween them upon Condition that my daughter mary will deliver up to my Executors one bond which hath had mee to pay unto her forty shillings ayeare otherwise not to be paid unto them Item I give unto my daughter Saraw firminger twenty pound and to be paid unto her within two yeare affter my decease I give and bequeath unto Mary my wife five pounds ayeare to be paid unto her by my Executours during her life and her dwelling in the howse if shee like not to boord with them Item I give unto mary my wife one bed and bedsted which shee desireth with all the furniture belonging there unto and any thing else which shee shall occation to make use of to be at her command Likewise the use and benefitt of the keeping of geese and poultry as formerly shee hath had without molestation Item I give unto the poore of Hartfeild living at this side the parish the sume of five shillings to be paid unto them within one month after my decease all the rest of my goods and chatells I give unto my two sones Francis and Andrew Firminger whom I make equally my whole and sole executours and I doe hereby utterly disalow all other former wills and testaments by me in any wise before this time named or be queathed Confirming this and none other to be my Last will and testament in witness hereunto I have set my hand and seale the day and yeare above written Sined sealed published and decleared by the said Francis Firminger as his last will and teastament in the presence of us William Winnifrith The mark and seal of Francis Firminger John Firminger 5to die Novembris Anno Domini 1675 Quo die Ad peticionemn Benj Henshaw Notarii Publici jurat fuere Franciscus et Andeas Firminger Executores in Testamento suprascript nominat et onus execucionis Testamenti Commissum fuit dicti Francisco et Andrea Coram me Gulielmo Snatt Surrogate
