Reference RG 11/1043: Hailsham District; Hellingly Subdistrict; Chiddingly Enumeration District No 4; Enumerator: Benjamin Hide
Part of the Civil Parish of Chiddingly from the Boundary of the Parish on the Turnpike Road leading from East Hoathly to Horsebridge, the North side of that Road to Whitesmith Hill, and North of the Footpath leading from thence past Whitesmith Hill House to the Road leading from Coldharbour to Whitesmith ∓ Holmshill to where the River running from Laughton Common to Amley crosses that Road, and North of that River to the Boundary of the Parish near Amley and East of the Road where the River crosses as above described to and as far as where the Footpath begins at Holmshill leading to Chiddingly Street and North West of that Footpath to the above mentioned River at the West end of Birch lane including all the Houses and Tenaments which are in the Parish of Chiddingly, the Place, the Street, the Park, the Stream, Gunhill, Pickhill, Halegreen, Friths, Hilders court, Holdens & ..land.
