  He married Hannah on c 1845. She was born 1821 at Rotherfield, Sussex. They had the following children:
  iAlice Elizabeth who was born 1857 at East Grinstead, Sussex; christened 30th Aug 1857 St Swithin Parish Church, East Grinstead, Sussex, daughter of Henry Payne (dealer in marine stores) and Hannah Payne
