He was born 1772 at Mayfield, Sussex; christened 12th Jun 1772 at St. Dunstan Church, Mayfield, Sussex, son of Reuben Ashby and Ome Ashby; died Mar 1850 at Mayfield, Sussex, aged 78 years; buried 16th Mar 1850 at St. Dunstan Church, Mayfield, Sussex. They had the following children:
