Widow Page

Widow Page. [Aged] between 60 and 70. Living at Fairwarp, Maresfield. Her husband owned a farm called Summerford in Maresfield adjoining the Forest which now belongs to her children. They lived there 20 years. It belonged to his Father and Grandfather before him. They never had stone from the Forest. We had litter and turf when they needed it. Used to get gravel for roads when we wanted it and never paid anyone for it. The Lord may or may not [have] known. They never had wood or marl.

The Weald is at  Database version 14.05 which has ongoing updates to the 395,000 people; 9,000 places; 613 maps; 3,308 pictures, engravings and photographs; and 248 books loaded in the previous version
