Ebenezer Littleton was born in Shropshire in 1831 and became Pastor of Forest Fold Chapel on the 12th July 1868 where he was to remain the incumbent there for 52 years. During his time as Pastor he was responsible for the establishment of the Sabbath School, the Branch Chapel at Crowborough Cross, and the Motts Mill Chapel. He continued to preach at Forest Fold Chapel until his 89th year, one year before he passed peacefully away on 29th December 1920.

Mr E Littleton, having supplied for six months to the profit and education of the Forest Fold Church, was cordially and unanimously requested to take the pastorate, which was accepted by him, his stated labours commencing July 13th, 1868
The pastorate of Mr Littleton covered a period of 52 years, and his name and memory are still remembered and loved by many.
