Printer friendly version

Horatio Beeching was born in 1798 in Tonbridge, the second son of Thomas and Elizabeth Beeching. His father had set up the Beeching Banking business at Church Lane which was inherited by Horatio and the rest of the family. Horatio expanded the banking business into Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, St Leonards and Folkestone which was later (in 1890) sold to Lloyds Bank Ltd. Horatio acquired Ferox Hall and the Bordyke estate in 1843 and lived there untill 1855 when he and his second wife moved to Tunbridge Wells where he died in 1878.
